Supporting our communities

As a major employer for the Fraser Coast and Tumbarumba regions, we are passionate about being able to give back and provide long-lasting benefits to the towns and areas where our employees live and work. Some of our more recent initiatives have championed education and the arts, as well as mental health and disability services, and programs that create positive futures for children.

Our impact

Hervey Bay Volunteer Marine Rescue

Hyne Group have been a proud major sponsoring partner for the Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) Hervey Bay since 2015. This partnership provides crucial funding to operate VMR Hervey Bay’s 8-metre response vessel, Hyne Timber Rescue. This vessel assists in keeping people safe on the water through delivering vital search and rescue services, as well as medical evacuations from K’Gari (Fraser Island) and assistance to emergency services.

Hyne Community Trust

Alongside our annual sponsorship and donations framework, we have also established the Hyne Community Trust. Unique to the Tumbarumba region, this initiative aims to support community projects valued over $10,000 and has already provided invaluable infrastructure upgrades, as well as potentially live saving equipment to the local SES.

Our Impact

State Emergency Service

During the 2019/20 Black Summer bushfires, Tumbarumba was evacuated and Hyne Group stepped up to support the local emergency organisations, specifically the State Emergency Service (SES). We established the Hyne Community Trust initiative in Tumbarumba, which fully funded the acquisition and installation of a new generator to power the shared response facility of the SES, Tumbarumba Rural Fire Service, and Forest Corporation NSW fire fighters, along with their necessary equipment. This demonstrated Hyne's commitment to disaster preparation and ongoing support for the community.
